And on my family tree?
We meet Emma Johanna Maria HENNING, the niece of my 3rd great grand uncle.
Emma was born on December 21, 1882 in Upahl, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany and baptized on December 31, 1882 in Diedrichshagen.
Emma was the youngest of six children of the mason Joachim Heinrich HENNINGS and his wife Maria Dorothea Elisabeth EVERT.
But little Emma didn’t even reach her second birthday. She died 22 months old on November 14, 1884 in Upahl.
The following document is a perfect example that even registrars make mistakes sometimes. In the original entry, Emmas age is given with 2 years and 11 months. In the side note you can see that his his father had this corrected to “1 year and 11 months”.
Emma got laid to rest on the church cemetary in Diedrichshagen on November 15, 1884.
