March 21 – Helene Johanna Elisabeth Hennings

Reza Shah Pahlavi changes the name of Persia per decree to Iran on March 21, 1925

On March 21, 1980 President Jimmy Carter announces the US boycott of the Olympic Games in Moscow in the summer of 1980.

Let’s take a look at my family tree. We meet the niece of my 3rd great grand uncle.

Helene Johanna Elisabeth HENNINGS was born March 21, 1872 in Upahl, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.

She was the third of six children born into the marriage of the bricklayer Joachim Heinrich HENNINGS and his wife Maria Dorothea Elisabeth née EVERT.

I found her confirmation entry from April 18, 1886 in the church of Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany:

confirmation Helene Hennings

confirmation Helene Hennings

On December 4, 1891 Helene married Hans Wilhelm Johann BAUMANN, a farmhand born in Barendorf, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany

The 1900 census of Mecklenburg-Schwerin shows her living in Wüstenmark.

So far I didn’t find any children for the couple.

  1. Barbara: I really love the history lessons you start your post with! Keep it up. It’s amazing how you seem to have at least one piece of documentation for each person in your tree! Wish I did.

    • Thank you Larry! Well these are the “younger” of my ancestors. The further I climb up my family tree the less documents I have… unfortunately.
