March 16 – Wilhelm Hans Heinrich Körner

On March 16, 597 BC Jerusalem surrenders to the troops of of the babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II. The Judaic king Jehoiachin gets replaced by his uncle Zedekiah.

And better late than never. On March 16, 1995 the State of Mississippi is the last one ot ratify the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution which abolishes slavery and involuntary servitude. 130 years earlier, in 1865 it still denied the ratification.

I only have sad stories for my family tree for this day.

One is the one of my 2nd cousin 3x removed Wilhelm Hans Heinrich KÖRNER.

He was born on March 16, 1884 in Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany as the first of four sons into the marriage of the farmer Heinrich Christian Wilhelm KÖRNER and his wife Wilhelmine Catharina Maria née BRÜGGEMANN.

Hi received his christening in the church of Diedrichshagen on March 29, 1884
