November 14 – Today in my family tree

November 14, 1901: The viennese physician Karl Landsteiner announces the discovery of the blood groups A, B and 0.

And on this day 1927 the musical “Funny Face” from George Gershwin premieres at the Alvin Theatre in New York City.

And on my family tree?

Johann Joachim Heinrich GREVE is born on November 14, 1846 in Upahl, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. He is the third of four children from Hans Joachim GREVE and Catharina Margaretha VASELT.

On February 7, 1873 he marries Catharina Elisabeth Maria KÖRNER in Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany a famer’s and vestryman’s daughter from Upahl.

I couldn’t trace any children of the two of them yet, but that is already on my to-do-list. This is getting longer and longer by the way ;)

The 1900 census of Mecklenburg-Schwerin shows Johann living as a farmer in Upahl.

And what happened to him in the new century? I don’t know yet, I have to take a closer look.
