November 12 – of crowned heads

November 12, 1990: Proclamation of Emperor Akihito as 125th tenno of Japan.

November 12, 1201: Following the death of his reigning brother Knut VI. the younger Waldemar II. becomes new king of Denmark

Unfortunately, I don’t have any crowned head in my family tree. Hey, which girl wouldn’t dream of being a princess ;)

But most of my paternal ancestors are farmers, farm labourers, coachmen, horse or cattle dealers. Maybe a gardener or a teacher once in a while.

So, no wonder I have the birth of a farmers daughter as event for today in my family tree.

On November 12, 1854 Wilhemina Louise Henriette KRUSE is born in Upahl, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. She was the fourth of nine children of Johann Heinrich KRUSE and Maria Dorothea Elisabeth FRAHM.

On November 5, 1875 she married the mason Hans Joachim Friedrich KOOP in Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.

Between 1880 and 188 she gave birth to 5 children. I already have it on my to-do-list to check if there have been children between the year of their marriage and the first record I have from 1880.

In the 1900 census she is stated as widowed with a small property to live off:

On November 1, 1918 her son-in-law Johann GRÖNING registers her death the day before in Upahl with the local authorities. The church records reveal that she died off the flu.

Wilhelmina gets laid to rest in Diedrichshagen on November 5, 1918.
