November 1 – All Saint’s Day

I hope you all have survived Halloween!

All Saint’s Day 1894 was the day Nikolaus II. becomes Tsar of Russia following the death of his father Alexander III.

And in the year 1512 the frescoes of Michelangelo are getting revealed in the Sistine Chapel on November 1.

Let’s see what happened today on my family tree.

Elisabeth Maria Catharina KRUSE gets born on November 1, 1855 in Sievershagen, in the parish of Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg, Germany.

The 1867 cencus shows her with her parents Johann Heinrich KRUSE and Katharina Dorothea Margaretha VASELD as well as her grandmother Magdalene Elisbeth RUNGE living in Sievershagen.

She was married to Joachim Johann Heinrich KRUSE (and yes, they really both have the same name) on November 23, 1888.

They had 2 children I know of so far. One son born 1890 and a daugther born 1893.

In the 1900 census her status is already given with “widowed”

Elisabeth died February 08, 1934 in Sievershagen and got laid to rest on the cemetary of Diedrichshagen on February 12, 1934.
