October 31 – Schönen Reformationstag, happy Halloween, blessed Samhain, Dia de los Muertos!

October 31, 1892 – the short stories “The adventures of Sherlock Holmes” by Arthur Conan Doyle get published the first time in London.

October 31, 1941 – following 14 years of construction work, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial is declared  finished.

On my family tree, Frieda Bertha Emma KRUSE, the wife of my cousin 3x removed Hans Wilhelm Carl Ludwig WARNKE is born October 31, 1888 in Upahl, parish Diedrichshagen, Mecklenburg, Germany as the daughter of Johann Joachim Heinrich KRUSE and Rudolfine Wilhelmine METELMANN. She got christenend November 18, 1888 in the church of Diedrichshagen.

This is her record from the 1900 census:

Frieda KruseI couldn’t find their wedding entry yet. But if they married in the parish, it is just a matter of time.

The couple had 3 children: one son born 1912 and two daughters, born 1916 and 1917. Unfortunately, two of them died within the first 6 months.

I didn’t find her in the 1919 census yet, that COULD mean that she died between 1917 and 1919 or that I just didn’t look good enough ;)
